qatarperegrineThis is an article I came across months ago, written by a Western social worker who spent over five years living in Qatar.
That's pretty much all. We went to a dinner earlier this week with a couple just back from three months in Doha, and two other couples who are moving over there at the same time as us. It was exciting to hear all of the stories of life in Qatar, and I was very happy to get tips on things like packing. (Apparently all the same brands of toiletries are over there, but OTC drugs aren't -- that kind of thing.) The only negative comments they had about Qatar were on par with ones I've heard about the UK, such as not having electrical outlets in the bathroom.
And tomorrow we're meeting with someone at CMU about the specific arrangements, paperwork we need to fill out, shots we need to get, and so on.
I think this thing might really be happening!
