Hijab quiz!

kahnman posted this, and I just had to pass it along: someone made an online quiz to tell you what style of hijab to wear! I scored "simple hijab." (So did kahnman, but that's a mental image I don't need!) The other options are modern, complicated, traditional and "oldies," although I have to admit I would not be able to match their pictures up with these descriptions. The "traditional" one looks Amish to me, and I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be able to see her collarbone???

My favorite hijab website, though, is on Modern Muslima.com. Their How to Hijab guide has all kinds of advice on what kinds of head coverings suit what face shape and so on (in "Different Styles of Head Covers") and, count them, 21 different ways to wrap your scarf (under "Hijab Styles").

Don't worry, dear. I'll be much more likely to wear a Niqab, if I ever have to run around Arabia in drag, only way I can think of to hide the beard (not to mention being perfect for stalking). ;-)

I too, couldn't really see much difference between the various results the quiz had. I think the "complicated" one is called that for all the tassels and frills it has, that would make "getting it just right" more... complicated. One thing I must say though, the one we got is the hottest of the bunch. >:-)

OK, I admit, initially I got "Simple" too. So I decided to go back and change some answers.

I'm "sophisticated, intelligent, witty," and apparently I can't spell independent.

I also got simple. Then I went off and did a TON of reading about what the Lubavitcher Rebbe has (had?) to say about sheitlen. Until yesterday, I'd never seen the word sheitel. It was, um.... well, I guess it made me less likely to convert to Orthodox Judaism! (Sorry Shmuel!)
