1. I leave for Pittsburgh tonight! And, as much as I love Doha, I always love going back and visiting the old stomping grounds.


2. My ankle is mysteriously completely pain-free today.

Ooh, that would be cool, but I doubt I will on this trip. Maybe when Qatar Airways starts flying direct to DC I'll fly through there sometimes though....

You look better in black hair than I ever have/will! And those stripes of blue are SO CUTE! And you've ended up with the haircut I was trying to get but the hairdresser failed miserably at.

Is sibling rivalry dead in your 20s and 30s? Maybe, maybe I'm just happy for you that it's so nice. You make me want to do it too, but I look like a really badly cast Romulan when I dye my hair black. Blue, though... memories... happy memories...

These things should make you feel better:

Marjorie's seekrit: I color-balanced that picture to make me look less green and Romulan. (The wall behind me is stark white.) Also, my hair isn't *really* black, it's dark brown, so that helps.

I will never be able to replicate the cool blow-dry job the hairdresser did. Right now my hair is sticking out all over the place. :-) As for blue stripes, though, I have to say I can't figure out why I didn't do this years ago. I absolutely love them. I love watching people do double-takes, like, "Wait, did I just catch a flash of blue?" And when I put my hair back they don't show at all, so I can look all serious and professional if I want. (Well, no I can't, but I can at least disguise the blue hair.)
