Aug. 30th, 2005 09:15 pmThe Indian construction workers' strike is over. Qatar's National Human Rights Committee stepped in and mediated a settlement, the workers have been paid, and work resumed this morning.

The representative of the workers, Madhu Menon, was later reportedly fired by their employers along with four of his colleagues for inciting workers and encouraging indiscipline.That's not a great sign for the future of a Qatari labor movement.
