As I put a package in our DHL link today, it struck me that I never told anyone that our mailing policy here has changed. So, while I'm really not hinting that I want any packages, you actually can send them now if you need to.
The new rules are: don't send a package heavier than 20 pounds, and preferably don't send one over five pounds, since that's my weekly allowance. Be aware packages *will* be opened, and include packing slips (with dollar value of contents) if possible. Also, you cannot send pork, religious publications, firearms (real or fake), military uniforms, antiques, furs, gambling devices, ivory, jewelry, plant products, playing cards, precious metals or stones, tobacco, alcoholic beverages, pornography, or medicine (prescription or OTC) to Qatar.
So I know you all were planning a big shipment of distilled pork-flavored medicinal tobacco plants, fur military uniforms with antique ivory firearms, ruby gambling-themed jewelry, and religious, pornographic playing cards, but don't do it!
Unrelatedly, most recent entry on my friend Leland's blog is one of the most amazing pieces of writing I've read in a while, so you should go read it.
