From today's Peninsula:
- The American ambassador to Qatar is calling on Qatar to do more about human trafficking. State Department report here. What they say about prosecution seems to be very true at all levels of labor mistreatment: even when the government intervenes to help oppressed workers, the companies responsible never seem to face any penalties.
- Four men got life emprisonment for rape -- that's a surprisingly light penalty -- and another man got the death penalty for vehicular homicide.
- The Housing Department has given 1,439 houses to Qatari nationals.
