Denmark protests: another perspective

A couple days ago my friend
jess_qatar linked to a blog post by (I think?) a Syrian-American college student, urging Muslims not to participate in the boycott of Danish products: Muslims: Wake Up, End the Boycott.
I especially liked this section. (
yamansalahi, I hope you won't mind me quoting it):
"Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance."
-Qur'an 16:125, interpreted into English by Yusuf Ali

"There is a story of a woman who used to wait for the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, on one of his regular paths to throw insults and toss trash in his direction. The Prophet, in his wisdom, never responded. In fact, he never acknowledged her presence. The first time he acted as a response was the first day that the woman failed to appear to insult him--as a result, he went to her home to assure himself of her well-being.What a relevant hadith! I wish I were hearing more stories like this one at the moment.
There are no recorded instances of the Prophet violently responding to those who denied his prophethood or those who slandered him."

I wish we were hearing more of it too :-/
