Bush bombing Al Jazeera?

It's been fairly widely reported, I think, that a British tabloid claims that Bush suggested bombing Al Jazeera's headquarters in Doha. (My husband blogged about this here.) I won't comment on the likelihood of this having happened, except to concur with foobart that it's a pretty sad statement that it's even plausible.

Anyway, today's Peninsula reports that "shock and resentment filled the air as outraged Doha residents discussed the report about alleged Bush plan to bomb Al Jazeera throughout the day." Also, a sit-in was to be held this afternoon -- at Al Jazeera. I think they sort of missed idea of a sit-in....

Have I asked you if you've seen Control Room? Cause it's an amazing movie. They mentioned the bombing of Al Jazeera in it, and they spun it as being pretty probable, though with spin who knows.
