- A description of Garangao, which our students just thoughtfully celebrated by giving us nuts and candy.
- Scholars talk about hot topics during Ramadan iftars, including the unholy trinity of sex, drugs and the Doha Securities Market.
- Fetus aborted because it was female -- first time I've seen mention of that here. I thought abortion was generally illegal in Qatar?

Date: 2005-10-17 10:13 pm (UTC)I was wondering if she might have been a foreigner. I'm not sure if the following sentence makes that more or less likely.
"The report said the husband had behaved “like a mad man and left the country” on coming to know that his first child was a daughter."
Also said something about the wife's brother thinking of suing the husband--for causing an abortion. Does that imply that abortion is illegal in Qatar after all?
Do you think it's too late to abort the husband? That would seem like the cleanest solution.
