Eid mubarak!

Today is Eid Al Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice. This is the second major festival of the Muslim calendar; it comes partway through the month of Hajj, and commemorates Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his own son. It is thus celebrated by slaughtering lots of animals and sharing them with the poor.
