The Peninsula reported today on the Doha Debate that we attended last weekend.
That's really not how I would have summarized the speeches, and some points were, I think, reported quite inaccurately. I'm 90% sure the rabbi never said anything about three religions gathering to discuss vital issues. (The only reference I remember him making to the three religions present was his statement that even if the roadmap to peace is dead we can still work towards its resurrection, since all three faiths believe in resurrection.)
More to the point, I am 90% sure that they reported the vote backwards. It was a very close vote, but my recollection is that Rabbi Melchior and Mr. Khatib won the debate. Weird.
In other Peninsula news, I'm starting to think that Rains lash city is their favorite headline, since they pull it out every time it rains. You really have to check out the photo that accompanies this article, though!
