A kinder, gentler Qaradawi

Dr. Yusuf Al Qaradawi, our favorite extremist Muslim scholar here in Qatar, hasn't made any public statements since the beginning of December (when, if you recall, he accused Israel of assassinating Yasser Arafat). Apparently he's been ill.

Then, this week, he's made two public statements: first, that "increasing rents by huge margins is ... a major sin in the eyes of Islam", and second, that the Kashmir dispute should be settled through meaningful and constructive dialogue.

Go, Qaradawi!
