Doha debate
Jan. 29th, 2005 05:13 pmJust before we left for India, we attended one of the Qatar Foundation's Doha Debates, held on the question of whether Iraq's neighbors wish to see democracy in Iraq. The illustrious speakers included Iraq's last ambassador to the UN and the British MP who resigned from the cabinet over Britain's involvement in the Iraq war.
Anyway, it's being broadcast on BBC World right now, and will be rebroadcast at 10:10 p.m. GMT, if any of you are awake and want to see it. Ooh! They just showed a reaction shot of Chuck Thorpe, our dean.
Edit: Even if you can't catch the video version, you can read transcripts of the previous Doha Debates here. (The most recent one isn't up yet.)
