I had a great experience at the American Hospital here this week.
(Hey, Mum & Dad, remember when I called you unexpectedly from a hospital in Wyoming and said, "Don't panic, I'm OK now, but..."? This isn't like that, I promise!)
( Fun at the hospital (really!) )
For family members worried about the results of the experience: although my tendinitis is much improved, I have a new kind of pain in my right thumb. It does look like there's a bone spur on my MC joint so I probably have some cartilage damage, but there are no other signs of osteoarthritis. I'm back on Naproxen and also a topical NSAID and in a week we'll reevaluate and decide whether to start corticosteroids. The blood tests were to rule out systemic lupus, and they all came back negative -- al-hamdu lillah ("praise God!"), as they say in these parts.
