Good timing

This afternoon, my work ID badge unexpectedly broke. I was worried they wouldn't make me a new one and I'd have to patch it back together, but when I went to see the office manager she reached into her desk drawer and pulled out a new badge with my picture on it! Apparently they just made up new ID cards for this academic year, and she was about to come give me mine.

It still has my old picture, from when I was growing out my hair. It still has my old job title. And it still says "Carnegie Melon" on the back. But it's all bright and shiny, and it will let me through locked doors. So w00t!

How does the Carnegie Melon differ from other melons?

The Carnegie melon

It's sort of an asshole and partially responsible for the Johnstown flood, but on the bright side it's passionately devoted to philanthropy and building libraries.

It's the second most calorically dense melon (after the Rockefeller Melon) and its motto is "My rind is in the work."

Are you always this easy to please?

I know I am...I just didn't know anyone else was as well....

It was sort of a rough morning, so any little thing working in my favor was bound to make me disproportionately happy. :-)

Your icon makes me smile. I don't know why, but everytime I see your face, I smile.

Must be I like you!
