Weekend fail

Thursday night we were supposed to go out for a friend's birthday, but I was exhausted so we left after putting in a brief appearance.

Friday night, a different friend invited us over for shisha, but then succumbed to jetlag and slept through the evening.

This afternoon we were supposed to go to a third friend's for brunch, but our car broke down. We called a cab, which was supposed to arrive in 20 minutes, but after it hadn't arrived an hour later, we gave up.

Tonight we were supposed to go to rescheduled shisha with friend #2, but he discovered that all the other invitees had made separate plans together. Awkward.

... On the bright side, we got lots of housecleaning done? Is that a bright side?

It's kind of funny that this is the first weekend in three weeks that I haven't had to go in to work, and it was boooorrrrrring.

If it's any consolation, I've had a similar sort of day here, for different reasons. It took all day to get to the supermarket - I was up at 9 and we didn't actually get to the shop till 5pm. Because of the delay in getting out of the house, Benjamin woke up in the middle of the produce department and started shrieking his displeasure at not being fed immediately.

So my big outing for the day involved rushing out of the shop, leaving the Other Half to do the shopping, and sitting in the car feeding the hungry baby. W00t! If only every day could be so exciting!
