Qur'an update

Juz:25
Surahs:41:47 -- 45
Themes:How adversity brings us closer to God; the choice people are given between having their rewards in this life or the next; the value of forgiveness; the Day of Judgment.
Aya:The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof; but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is with Allah. Verily, He likes not the oppressors. (42:40)
Hadith:Narrated Shaddad bin Aus: The Prophet said,
"The most superior way of asking forgiveness from Allah is: 'O Allah, You are my Lord! There is no god but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I entreat You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You.'"
The Prophet added, "If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise. And if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before morning, he will be from the people of Paradise."
(Sahih Al-Bukhari 8/6306, O.P. 318).

Ramadan Readers: We're 5/6 through today! However, this system divides the Qur'an into 30 parts -- and there are not 30 days in the month of Ramadan. Our current schedule has us finishing on November 13, which is almost certainly going to be the first day of the post-Ramadan eid (feast). If you really want to finish during Ramadan, don't forget to double up readings one day this week.
