Al Jazeera documentary on laborers

Last week, Al Jazeera aired a documentary -- in Arabic -- on laborers in the Gulf. According to The Peninsula, a program that I assume is the same documentary will be aired on Al Jazeera English on Saturday evening. It's called "Blood, Sweat and Tears" and it sounds quite good. I may even have to (gasp) hook up a television so I can watch it. (Hey Samrya peeps, do we get Al Jazeera English? Which cable box?)

I'd tell my American readers to watch it too but, oh yeah, you can't watch Al Jazeera. Funny, that.

You may be able to view it here, though. Or it may be posted somewhere afterwards, like the Arabic one.

I'm ashamed to say I hadn't noticed till this spring that we couldn't get Al Jazeera here ( of course, without cable we only get 3 or 4 channels anyway). I couldn't watch it in Qatar as The Writer of this Blog is even more restrictive than the US government and refuses *all* channnels. I did watch a bit in England.

Funny, I thought the US was fighting for Freedom

is Al-Jazeera banned in the US? Does that mean TV stations can't broadcast it?

somewhat related
