Juz: | 12 |
Surah(s): | Surah 11; 12:1-52 |
Themes: | Surah 11 tells the stories of a number of prophets, how they were sent to warn nations that were to be destroyed for their sinfulness. These include Nuh (Noah), Hud, Salih, Ibrahim (Abraham), Lut (Lot), Shu'aib and Musa (Moses). Surah 12 is the story of Yusuf (Joseph), very much like the one in Genesis 37-50. |
Aya: | We [God] wronged them not, but they wronged themselves. So their gods, other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the Command of your Lord, nor did they add aught to them but destruction. (Surah 11:101) |
Hadith: | Narrated Abu Huraiah: The Prophet said, "The Right (Hand) of Allah is full, and (its fullness) is not affected by the continuous spending of night and day. Do you see what He has spent since He created the heavens and the earth? Yet all that has not decreased what is in His Right Hand. His Throne is over the water and in His other Hand is the Bounty or the Power to bring about death, and He raises some people and brings others down." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, 9/7419, O.P. 515) |
