I just dropped Justin off at the airport; he's going to spend a week at an IEEE conference in Barcelona.
<sniff>
I can't decide what percentage of my sadness is because he's gone for a week, and what percentage is because, after studying Spanish for six years, I don't get to visit Spain and my husband does! (Of course, in Cataluña his French should be about as helpful as my Spanish.)
To lift my spirits, I am brainstorming good things about Justin being gone:
... OK, that's all I can think of. I guess it's not a bad thing that I think life is way more fun with Justin around, even if that results in sadness when he's not. (Though I am looking forward to the spaghetti.)

- I can blast MY cheesy music without satirical commentary. Yes! I will listen to The Doors, Violent Femmes, Pet Shop Boys and Evanescence all week.
- I can actually leave work at 5 p.m.
- Nobody will mind if I have spaghetti every night of the week.
... OK, that's all I can think of. I guess it's not a bad thing that I think life is way more fun with Justin around, even if that results in sadness when he's not. (Though I am looking forward to the spaghetti.)
